Bengate Barn Cottages

Worstead - Norfolk

Our story

We're Natalie and Scott, and we took over Bengate Barn Cottages in July 2026. Natalie spent many years as a Hand Therapist, and Scott works in IT sales. We both have Norfolk roots but spent the last nine years living in Amsterdam before moving back with our growing family.

We live at Bengate Barn with our four young children (and three chickens!), and we're looking forward to plenty of time outdoors and on the beach. We hope you'll enjoy the Norfolk countryside as much as we do!

Bengate Barn

Bengate Barn dates back to the early 17th century, when it formed part of the same agricultural estate as the neighbouring Bengate House, a Grade II listed farmhouse that still stands just metres away, listed by Historic England since 1955.

For centuries the barn housed cattle and served the working farm, before later finding use as an industrial building. Its thatched roof, timber frame and characterful Norfolk brick and flint construction have survived remarkably intact, a reminder of the craftsmanship of the era.

In 2008, the barn was thoughtfully converted into the home and holiday cottages you see today. We took over in July 2026 and feel privileged to be the latest custodians of a building that has stood here for over four hundred years.
